The Kitten Cozy - In Solid or Print Fleece w/matching refillable heat pouch

The Kitten Cozy is a nursing bib made of fleece, with an 8 inch pocket at the
bottom to wear while feeding newborn kittens or other small animals. It has an
opening at the side to place a refillable heating pouch (you can fill with rice
or other heating source that you prefer) which keeps them warm and cozy. The
bib is easily tied behind at the neck and hangs down protecting your neck &
chest area from scratches or snags and at the same time you can keep your
little ones close and snuggle. You can machine wash and dry for easy cleaning.

It has been a great help as well during weaning as well. I'm able to wear it
while encouraging the kittens to eat solid food, and it protects my clothing
from getting their food on me!

One day an idea came to me while I was feeding these my first litter of
neonatal kittens as a feline foster volunteer. I was trying to cuddle them in
between feedings and help settle them into bottle feeding. They were doing ok,
but one of them was a bit over excited or anxious “Boomer”. They all would want
to climb up my chest or scoot under my arm and I found that they either were
poking me with their little claws or snagging my shirts. So I used a cuddly
fleece blanket up against my chest while I was feeding them. It was a bit
cumbersome, but it was nice to be able to enjoy them and snuggle more while
feeding them. It dawned on me that if I could just tie the blanket around my
neck then my hands would be free and it would be a bit easier to feed them.

I also love to sew and it occurred to me that I could maybe make something to
work for me while I feed the kittens. After a few test patterns I finally came
up with something that I was happy with. I’m calling it “The Kitten Cozy”. I
love learning new things and I enjoy helping others.
